  1. Rochester castle and cathedral free walking tour (suitable for children aged over 11)
  2. Chimera climbing centre in Tunbridge Wells is open 10am – 5pm on new years eve and new years day
  3. Kent Life Farm is open on new year’s eve (but closed on new year’s day). Children can visit the animals in cuddle corner, take a fun farm ride or spot the wooden snowmen hidden around the grounds
  4. Older kids (aged 5+) can join their parents at the St George Hotel in Chatham for a 3-course meal, Freddie Mercury Tribute Act and DJ till late


What to do on New Years Day in Kent

  1. Sutton Valence annual charity pram race (and BBQ)
  2. Get your skates on at Eastwell Manor in Ashford, where ice-skating runs until the 2nd of January
  3. Run into the new year with the Lamberhurst 5k & 10k runs through Bewl Water Reservoir. There is also a children’s race available
  4. Take a guided walk around Knole park at 2pm, then treat yourself to a cuppa and slice of cake in the cafe
  5. Blow away the cobwebs with a sponsored charity swim in the sea in Viking Harbour, Broadstairs at 12 noon. There will be complementary curry and chilli for all swimmers at Neptunes Hall afterwards
